Sunway is an ATX form factor mid-tower computer based on the AMD X570 chipset, built on the ASUS ROG Crosshair VIII Dark Hero motherboard. It is powered by a 16-Core, 32-Thread AMD Ryzen 9 5950X with an all-core boost up to 4.6GHz and an NVIDIA RTX 3090. It features 32GB of Corsair Vengeance RGB PRO CL16 DDR4 memory clocked at 3733MHz and an all SSD setup for maximum data throughput.
For the operating system, it uses a single WD Black SN850 512GB PCIE 4.0 NVMe SSD operating at a blistering 7GB/sec and dual 4TB Samsung 860 EVO solid-state drives in RAID 0, creating a 8TB ultra-fast pool for storage.
Airflow is handled by a passive array of six Noctua Chromax NF-S12As and six Noctua Chromax NF-F12s. The first six static-pressure optimized fans (NF-F12) work in tandem with the Corsair H150i Pro to cool both the CPU and motherboard VRMs, while three of the remaining six airflow optimized fans (NF-S12As) function as cool air intake and hot air exhaust.
With the use of the Corsair Command Pro, the NF-S12A fan array idles at 0 RPM and are controlled by the current GPU temperature and do not spin-up until the GPU is under significant sustained load. This means that the system remains exceptionally silent at idle, moderate use and light gaming.
The goal of Sunway is to be a quiet and robust 4K gaming PC and workstation with room for potential upgrades and supreme longevity prioritizing function over all else.
