Sunway is an ATX, standard form factor computer based on the Intel Z690 chipset and represents the best flexibility of being a hybrid workstation and a gaming machine. It was designed and built on the MSI MEG Z690 UNIFY-X motherboard for its high memory overclocking potential. It is powered by a hybrid 24-core, 32-thread Intel Core i9-13900KS with an all-core P-core clock of 6.0GHz, an all-core TVB overclock of 6.2GHz, an E-core overclock of 4.5GHz and a ring ratio of 51. It is paired with an NVIDIA RTX 4090 Founders Edition with an overclock of 3.0GHz and features 32GB of Corsair Dominator Platinum DDR5 memory tuned and overclocked to 7000MHz with a primary timing set of 30-42-42-28.
Airflow is handled by a hybrid array of 12 individually controlled fans. Intake is provided by 9 Noctua Chromax NF-A12x25 120mm fans and an additional 3 Noctua Chromax NF-S12A 120mm fans for exhaust. This setup requires the use of two Corsair Commander Core XTs for precise individual fan curve control, pump control and liquid temperature monitoring as well as full RGB control throughout the computer case.
Responsive fan and pump control is critical when it comes to regulating the amount of heat moved away from the CPU block. Fluid flow is driven by a 330mL Corsair Hydro X XD5 Xylem D5 pump. It is dynamically controlled by one of the dual Corsair Commander Core XT devices based on both liquid and CPU core temperature with a maximum of speed of 5000RPM at 35c liquid or 85c core.
The top radiator is set to intake cold air directly from outside of the case and is setup in a 6-fan push-pull configuration while bottom radiator but is only setup in a 3-fan push configuration, up through the radiator and into the GPU. After existing through the back or top of the GPU, the air then meets in the middle of the case and is then exhausted out of the side. The exhaust fans are exclusively controlled by the GPU and idle at 0 RPM when the GPU is below 50c. The exhaust fans will only reach their max RPM should the GPU reach 75c. With this dual fan controller configuration, the system can remain exceptionally silent at idle, during moderate productivity use and during light gaming workload.
Sunway aims to be a quiet, efficient and no-compromise 24-core, workstation and 4K 165Hz gaming machine designed to be expanded upon indefinitely.
